Photographs, accompanied by notes and correspondence of manuscripts, collected by Cyril Ernest Wright c1933-1972. The first section of the collection contains papers, plates, photocopies, photographs, translations and notebooks containing notes of certain Middle English manuscripts held in The British Library, Oxford Bodleian Library, Durham Cathedral and Cambridge University Library. There are also some items of correspondence concerning Middle English Manuscripts (1948-1977). The second section contains photographs taken from Italian Renaissance manuscripts, notebooks of notes concerning manuscripts in various Dutch, Italian and English libraries and museums. Section 3 contains photographs of manuscripts, plates and proofs for Fontes Harleiani: a Study of the Sources of the Harleian Collection of Manuscripts in the British Museum. In the final section of the collection is a list of Harley Manuscripts in the Department of Manuscripts at the British Library.

The material comprises correspondence between Thomas Sturge Moore (TSM) and various members of the Moore, Sturge and Appia families, friends, literary colleagues, including R.C Trevelyan, A.H Fisher, W.B Yeats, Robert Ross, Wyndham Lewis, George Bernard Shaw and Charles Ricketts, publishers and various others; diaries, notebooks and journals; drafts, proofs and published copies of his poems, articles, speeches and lectures; sketches and designs for costumes, book covers and bookplates for both his own work and that of others, most notably W.B Yeats; personal and family papers and photographs. The correspondence, papers and diaries of Sir Charles Blagden. Blagden's papers are interesting on several levels, generally for his close contact with European men of learning, and his relationship with Sir Joseph Banks. Blagden's professional researches are represented by medical notes in the boxed sequence. These are grouped with papers on other subject interests, including linguistics, e.g. a draft Tahitian-English dictionary, compiled from conversations with Omai, whom Blagden inoculated after Omai's voyage to England with James Cook. Blagden's interest in antiquities and travel is documented by diary entries, as is his intercourse with fellow scientists, particularly those associated with the founding of the Royal Institution.

Typed transcript of a diary, Jul-Aug 1914, written by Dora Leba Lourie, recording a trip via Liverpool to London, Paris, Switzerland, and the return via Boulogne and Folkestone, recording hotels, sights, acquaintances and impressions, and including references to the outbreak and early stages of World War One.
