Papers of the London Branch of the Anti Apartheid Movement. The records are wide ranging and include minutes, reports, memoranda and correspondence, as well as publications and more ephemeral material documenting the many events and demonstrations organised by the movement. Although the collection relates specifically to the local and regional groups for the London area, the papers are equally concerned with the wider business of the movement, at both the national and international levels. Records of the Annual General Meetings, the National Committee and the Executive Committee are held as well as material from the London Committee and papers of local anti apartheid groups. The papers of David Kenvyn, chairperson of the London Committee and secretary of Redbridge Apartheid Group, reflect the regional and local activities of the movement, while papers from related organisations illustrate the extent to which the movement worked in partnership with other bodies.

Records of Friends of Bogle, support group for Bogle-L'Ouverture publishing house. The minutes and agendas in LMA/4462/H/01/002 include fundraising projects such as a fun walk, funds for medical expenses for a young man from Yemen, the Walter Rodney Memorial speech by Manning Marable, 17/01/1986 minutes discuss the setting up of a constitution for Friends of Bogle. Setting up of the suplementary school, launch of the record 'Come From That Window Child' (19/07/1986 minutes), Setting up of the Saturday school at Ealing Technical College (31/10/1986).

Minutes and Documents of the Cabinet Meetings of President Eisenhower, 1953-1961 is a themed microfilm collection which includes copies of the minutes, memoranda, and supporting documents of the Cabinet meetings during the Presidential administration of Dwight David Eisenhower, 12 Dec 1952-13 Jan 1961. The meetings included discussions relating to all aspects of the domestic and foreign policy affairs of the United States. Meeting minutes relate to the addition to the Cabinet of the post of US Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare, 1953; the armistice talks which ended the Korean War, 1953; the US Supreme Court decision declaring racial segregation in public schools unconstitutional, 1954; US military and financial commitment to Indo-China, 1954; American entry into the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO), 1954; Eisenhower's re-election strategy, campaign, and victory, 1956; the Suez Crisis, 1956; the adoption of the 'Eisenhower Doctrine', which stated that the United States would provide military and economic aid to any nation in the Middle East threatened by communism, 1957-1959; the launch of US satellites in response to the Soviet launch of the 'Sputnik' satellite, 1958; American intervention into Lebanon, 1958; the adoption of Alaska and Hawaii as US states, 1959; and the election of John Fitzgerald Kennedy as President of the United States, 1960.

Papers of Robert Philip Baker-Byrne, 1944-1957, notably include his personal papers including passport and notebook containing addresses and notes apparently taken during Baker-Byrne's time as investigator into war crimes in Kiel, 1948-1957; a memoranda from War Crimes Group (North West Europe) regarding the role and activities of Captain Robert Philip Baker-Byrne, 1947-1948; correspondence and papers regarding 'the Kiel Hassee case' in which 50 allied prisoners of war were summarily executed by Gestapo officers, 1948-1951 and correspondence including affidavits regarding an application for restitution money from the German government.

Theresienstadt poems collection, 1938, comprise typescript poems written by inmates of Theresienstadt, including Leo Strauss, Myra Strauss Gruhenberg, Mara, Otto Pam, Koppel and Fritz Pollak.

Papers of the Central-Verein deutscher Staatsbürger jüdischen Glaubens, 1903-1938, relate to the central organisation including the constitution and notably comprise management and committee minutes, reports and plans regarding the organisation's aims and objectives and finance records; files on the activities of the state and regional level sub-groups; files concerning women's organisations, youth organisations, members and officers, publication and propaganda, activities of other Jewish organisations, Zionism, emigration to Palestine, training for Jewish youth, Anti-Semitism, political, economic and legal situation for Jews in Germany, CV's relationship to religion and religious organisations, and the attitudes of writers and politicians to Jews.

The Runnymede Collection comprises books, pamphlets, journals, newsletters, bulletins, press cuttings and working files. The Trust's original working research files contain correspondence, press releases, reports, journal articles and other documents. Papers of Julius Lewin and his wife Eleanor Hawarden on native law in South Africa, 1941-1966. Papers concerning Antisemitism in the USA, 1925-1930s, comprising antisemitic printed tracts including correspondence between Hugo Valentin, N W Rogers and The Jewish Central Information Office regarding the antisemitic material in the Wiener Library (Ref 1001/1 - antisemitic tracts collection).

Heilbrunner's account of life in Dachau, 1933, is a typescript memoir of Jewish inmate, Heilbrunner, in 1933. Written in the form of a narrative in the first person; structured into four chapters, describes in some detail the conditions in the camp and the brutality of the camp guards, contains manuscript annotations and corrections.

Papers concerning the situation of non-Aryan lawyers in Germany, c 1934, comprises a report describing their situation, which helps explain the background to the level of discrimination against them.

Papers of Robert Michaelis, [1962-1972], comprise original source material, 1056/1; drafts and notes, 1056/2 and printed source material, 1056/3 regarding the Dreyfus affair. Original source material includes correspondence including that of Marcel Thomas, conservator at the Bibliothèque Nationale and Robert Michaelis regarding the authenticity of recently discovered documents relating to the Dreyfuss affair; drafts and notes include an annotated draft of Der Prozess Dreyfus and printed source material including newspaper cuttings and various publications concerning the Dreyfus affair.

Papers concerning Theresienstadt, 1940s, comprise copies of a report by Dr Muneles on the Hebrew book cataloguing project at Theresienstadt, 1945; typescript report regarding Theresienstadt, an inventory of the land and property, 1945; history of Theresienstadt during the Nazi era and typescript report on the situation there, providing statistical information relating to the inmates and transcriptions of documents produced during the camp's existence by both the Nazi camp authorities and the Jewish self-governing body.

Papers of Norbert Masur, 1945, 1993, comprise a report describing a meeting between Norbert Masur and Himmler in Berlin, 20 April 1945 concerning the release of female prisoners from Ravensbrück concentration camp, and correspondence regarding Norbert Masur's report, 1993.

Correspondence of the Ohly family, 1941-1947. This collection documents in part the experiences of a German Jewish family from Munich. The papers include original correspondence from friends and relatives and material from the Jewish organisations which arranged the details of the transport to Terezin. Includes: correspondence from Karl Traumann in Gurs, 1941, and Anna Ansbacher, Switzerland, 1945; papers and instructions from the Israelitische Kultusgemeinde (Jewish Community), Munich and the Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Deutschland (National Organisation of German Jews) and postcards from Terezin to Gertrud Ohly from Lotte Pariser, 1944.

Papers of Alice Fink, 1942-1949, comprise Red Cross telegram messages between Alice Redlich and her family in Berlin; copy documentation including certificate from the Jewish Committee for Relief Abroad in recognition of Alice's service and copy photographs of pre-war Berlin.

Papers comprising an account of life in a Polish ghetto, 1942, contain copy extracts from a letter by a Jewish woman in a ghetto in Poland, in which she describes the horrendous living conditions. Mention is made of the immanent arrival of a Swiss commission of inspection.

Papers of German Confessional Church, 1939-1957, relate to racial origins and aryanism within the German Confessional Church and comprise copies of correspondence including a letter from the temporary directorate of the German Evangelical Church to its regional administrations asking that clergymen submit proof of their Aryan origin, 1939; letter to the temporary directorate of the German Evangelical Church from Alberz and Böhm regarding emigration of those who are non-aryan or related to non-aryans from the German Confessional Church, 1939, and a letter from Alfred Wiener to Pastor Niemoeller, 1957.

Correspondence of the Reverend Wernham, 1937-1940, containing letters documenting his assistance to German Jewish refugees just before and after the outbreak of World War Two. Also included is material documenting German attitudes to the political situation immediately prior to the outbreak of war.

Antisemitic notices comprise two small paper notices stamped with the Anti-semitic slogan Kauft nicht bei Juden(Don't buy from Jews), [1933-1939].

Antisemitic painting, coloured, possibly the page of a book or brochure (Pag. 392 is printed in the top right corner), in the Judensau tradition.

The main picture shows three Jews who are wearing so-called 'Jew-hats'. The headline reads: Au weih [Rabbi Ansehl?] au au Mausch auwei au au; under the Headline is a picture of an injured body of a child with the banner: Diese Abbildung stehet zu Frankfurt am Maijn am Bruecken Thurm abgemahlt.

The statement beneath the painting reads: A I475, am Gruenen Donnerstag ward das Kindlein Simeo 2 half Jahr alt von den Juden umgebracht. Sauff du die Milch friss du den dreck das ist doch euer bestes geschleck.

Papers of Juedische Volksschule, 1938, comprise a copy of a letter from the school inspector, Munich to the government of Bavaria regarding the closure of the Jewish school.

Papers comprise a flyer advertising a protest meeting against the Nazi persecution of Jews in Germany, 1938.

Papers of Wilfrid Israel, 1937-1943, comprise correspondence from Wilfrid Israel to Diana Hopkinson. The last letter in this collection makes reference to the immanent ill-fated trip to Lisbon, where the Jewish Agency had asked him to assist with refugee work.

Papers of Eleanor Hess, 1872-1990s, document the life of a German Jewish refugee to Great Britain, and, in part, the lives of family members. The papers include emigration and citizenship papers of her grandfather Emil, c1870s; certificates and First World War army records of Julius, her father and correspondence from Eleanor and her brother, Herbert, in Brazil, to their mother, c1950s. The collection includes 2 boxes of family photographs. In addition there is an unpublished memoir of Eleanor, which describes the life of a Jewish girl in Nazi Germany and the experience of emigration to a foreign land.

Papers concerning Former Nazis in the Middle East, 1960s, comprise leaflets and flyers on Arab Anti-Semitism and articles on former Nazis in Arab countries.

Lists of Jews held under the protection of the Hungarian consulate, Belgium, 1943.

Boris Tödtli papers: a large part of this collection consists of correspondence described as the 'Russian Letters', containing copies of the originals and French and German translations. The letters are thought to prove a link between the different Russian military organisations of conservative character and of Fascist tendencies with the Pan-Aryan centre in Erfurt, Germany, directed by Colonel Ulrich Fleischhauer, editor of the World Service (Weltdienst), the notorious anti-Semitic publication.

Also reports and correspondence on the subjects of Boris Tödtli's trial; the Bern trial of the 'Protocols of the Elders of Zion'; the Russian Union of Fascists.

Statistics produced by the State Commissar for Private Enterprise comprising statistics relating to the investments owned by Jews, Aryans related to Jews, and Jews related to Aryans in Austria c 1938.

Microfilm of correspondence and papers regarding the fate of Jews in Slovakia, 1943-1945, chiefly between the German Foreign and Security offices in Berlin and representatives of the regime in Pressburg (Bratislava), including letters from Karl Adolf Eichmann, SS-Obersturmbannführer. Correspondence chiefly dates from after the Slovak National Uprising, Aug-Oct 1944, which had included a relatively high percentage of Jews.

Correspondence of Irmgard Litten, mother of the lawyer Hans Litten (1903-1938), regarding attempts to secure his release from prison, including a letter dated 11 February 1938 from Dachau, containing a list Hans Litten's personal effects.

Correspondence documenting the concerns of the distinguished academic, Charles Singer and colleagues, in relation to the restrictions on academic freedom in Nazi Germany and in particular the discrimination against non-Aryan professors during the Heidelberg University Jubilee celebrations, 1935. Correspondents include: J.D. Bernal, P.J. Noel Baker, E.M. Forster, Leonard Woolf, C.M. MacInnes, J.R. Marrack, Bishop of Durham, F.M. Powicke, Sir Josiah Stamp, Leonard G. Montefiore, Alfred Wiener, Ephraim Little, Cyril Bailey, Aldous Huxley.

Records of the Reichsvertretung der Juden in Deutschland (Reich Agency for Jews in Germany), 1933-1938. The papers include committee minutes, reports, memoranda, circulars and correspondence detailing all aspects of the organisation's activities. Also included within 602/8 is a file of transcribed correspondence regarding Gross-Breesen, a non-zionist training camp set up by the Reichsvertretung to prepare young people for life abroad.

Papers relating to a trial of six Danish Nazis for anti-semitic libel, in Copenhagen, 1937, including transcript of a declaration by the Chief Rabbi of Denmark, which takes the form of written answers to questions about the content of the anti-semitic publications produced by the defendants; copies of court documents, including indictment and notes about the Dänischer Verband gegen Rassenhass, including aims and objectives, dates, names of committee members.

Papers of French Jewish and anti-racist organisations, [1920]-1938, comprise a copy of an extract regarding Alliance Israélite Universelle and letter from the same organisation concerning the struggle against antisemitism in France, [1920]; reports on various subjects addressed at 2ème Congres International du Rassemblement Mondiale contra le Racisme et l'Antisémitisme, July 1938, including racism and antisemitism in North Africa, the international problem of immigration, the activities of the World Assembly Against Racism, self defence for free people, organisation and propaganda and demand for a law against racism, 1938 and various papers concerning antisemitism in France with reference to a number of organisations, 1937-1938.

Papers relating to an international anti-Jewish congress in Belgium, [1930s], comprise details of the congress, entitled Union Antijudaique Universelle, papers concern the secrecy of the event, Muslims amongst the participants, earlier conferences of this sort and a permanent office for the Union Antijudaique Universelle in case of a new Jewish war.
