Records of Horne, Engall and Freeman, solicitors, [1200]-1953, consisting of practice papers, records deriving from clerkships and other official capacities and Mr Scott Freeman's personal records, collection of maps and prints of Middlesex and printed material on the history of Staines. The material relates predominantly to Staines but also includes Ashford, Cranford, Egham, Feltham and Stanwell.

This collection comprises the title deeds of various small pieces of land in Enfield (and also Herts, Essex and Whitechapel) which have, at different times in the past, become the property of the parish of Enfield for charitable purposes, together with leases and appointments of trustees. They were kept in the parish chest until the end of the nineteenth century, as is shown by an old label noting that a bundle of deeds was removed from the parish chest in 1903. The deeds have an exceptional interest and value for the history and topography of Enfield.

Records deposited with the Clerk of the Peace for the Middlesex Quarter Sessions, comprising a parochial list of the poll for the County of Middlesex at the General Election 1802; printed in 1803 with minor handwritten additions, including the signature of Edward Knight, former owner.

Records of the Southall Labour Party, comprising minutes, financial accounts and membership records for the Uxbridge Divisional Labour Party, the Southall and Norwood Trades Council and Labour Party, and the Southall Divisional/Constituency Labour Party.

Illuminated address, with list of subscribers, presented to Alderman W.G. Lobjoit, J.P. OBE, in 1923 as a testimonial of his administrative work in the parish of Heston and on the Local and County Councils, 1898-1923; with illuminated address containing the resolution of the Justices of the Peace of the Petty Sessional Division of Brentford expressing appreciation of 30 years 'distinguished service' by the Deputy Chairman, Sir William George Lobjoit, O.B.E., 1937.

Papers, 1810-1907, collected by the solicitors in the course of their work, comprising deeds and legal documents relating to properties in Islington, Saint Pancras, Bethnal Green and Fleet Street, including leases, agreements, mortgages and assignments of leases. Also official parochial register of statistics of Church organisation and finance for New Brentford, with statistical return form, 1902-1907.

Records of the Bassishaw Friendly Association, later known as Bassishaw Ward Club, comprising rules, minutes, correspondence and accounts. They were catalogued by members of Guildhall Library staff in 1989 and 1991.

Records of Vintry Ward Club comprising: minutes, 1877-1980 (Ms 31354); accounts, 1877-1933, 1968-90 (Ms 31355, 31357); and annual luncheon menu cards, 1951-95 (Ms 31356). Catalogued by a member of Guildhall Library staff in 1997.

Records of the City Parochial Foundation comprise minutes of the Central Governing Body and its committees, 1891-1959 (Mss 8965-70); financial records, 1894-1952 (Mss 8972-81, 10897-8, 10902); register of applications for pensions, 1916-46 (Ms 10901); rentals, land valuation papers, insurance registers, 1898-1948 (Mss 10892-6) and deeds, 1308-1955 (Mss 11018-9, 23737-737A).

Also deposited with the records of the Foundation were a few records relating to the London Polytechnic Council. Records comprise minutes 1894-1904 (Ms 8971). Chelsea Physic Garden records comprise minutes 1899-1936 and cash books 1903-53 (Mss 10899-900). People's Palace Theatre records comprise a cash book 1950-53 (Ms 10903).

Records of the Aldersgate Ward School. The records comprise minutes, admission and attendance registers, log books and report books, records of payments to children, accounts, deed of trust and inspector's reports and deeds and estate papers. They have been catalogued by members of Guildhall Library staff at various dates.

Records of the Billingsgate Ward School, comprising subscribers' minute books; trustees' minute books and treasurers' journals.

Records of the Billingsgate and Tower Wards Schools. Tower Ward School records only survive from 1836. The records comprise attendance registers and log books, minutes, estate papers and accounts.

Records of the Bridge, Candlewick and Dowgate Wards Schools, comprising subscribers annual general meetings minute book; and lease and asbstract of title of the schoolhouse, 13 Swan Lane.

The only surviving records of Langbourn Ward School are trustees' minutes from 1738 and a set of rules.

Records of Tower Ward School, comprising trustees' minute books; Ladies' Committee minute books and boys' attendance register.
