Papers of William Blair-Bell, 1909-1938, relating to a range of professional subjects, including Blair-Bell's cancer research work (particularly his use of lead) and the wider organisation of cancer research; the Liverpool Medical Research Organisation; the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the British Empire Publishing Company; the British Congresses of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (BCOG); and Blair-Bell's nursing home and practice in Rodney Street. Papers of the Malaria Research Laboratory, 1939-1967, relate to the work of the laboratory and the collation of data concerning documented cases of malaria within Britain. The collection notably includes correspondence and other documentation between P G Shute and G Covell, Assistant Director and Director of the Laboratory, and various hospitals and other medical institutions regarding blood films examined by the Laboratory for malarial parasites, 1939-1963; Public Health Laboratory Service yearly reports of malaria cases, 1954-1966 and annual reports of the Malaria Research Laboratory, 1957-1967.

The collection comprises prescriptions issued by Kellgren at various institutes for Swedish medical gymnastics; namely, the Schwedisches Heilgymnastisches Institut in Gotha, Germany (MSS.5406-5407 and 7869), the Schwedisches Institut für Manuelle Behandlung der Krankheiten, Baden-Baden (MS.7872), the Swedish Institution for the Cure of Diseases by Manual Treatment, London (MSS.5408 and 7870), the Institutet för Manuel Sjukbehandling, Sanna, near Jönköping, Sweden (MS.5409), and the Institution Suèdoise pour le Traitement Manuel des Maladies, Paris (MS.7871).
