Records of the Corporation of London relating to administration, 1275-1998, including letter books, 1275-1689 (please note that these records can only be consulted on microfilm); index to Repertories, Journals and letter books, 1416-1750; parchment letter rolls, 1350-1370; merchants' letter books, 1672-1674 and 1746-1749; various correspondence, 1604-1911; Ward Presentments (returns of inquests held in each ward), 1668-1998; City and private petitions to Parliament, 1721-1948; City and private petitions to the Throne, 1649-1865; Resolutions of Greetings from the Mayor on the occasion of visits from foreign dignitaries, 1882-1980; addresses to King Charles II, 1681-1689; addresses to the Throne, 1842-1864 and papers relating to Royal addresses, including letters of thanks, 1816-1981; documents relating to Corporation of London reform, 1834-1992, Corporation of London annual reports, 1981-1997; Corporation of London annual review, 1991-1998; Digest of Work, 1961-1980; information leaflets, cards and fact packs explaining the work of the Corporation, 1972-1993; newsletters including the 'Guildhall', 1965-1976, the 'City View', 1991-1998, 'The Leader' (staff paper), 1995-1998 and the 'European Newsletter' (European department newsletter), 1993-1996; reports of the City Research Project on economic matters, 1992-1995.

Also artifacts including the official grant of Corporation of London armorial bearings, 1957; a sound recording of Prime Minister Winston Churchill's Honorary City Freedom ceremony, 1943; a sound recording of General Dwight D Eisenhower's Honorary City Freedom ceremony, 1945; badge of a drover at the Metropolitan Cattle market, 19th century; badge of the City of London National Guard, 1914-1918; medal commemorating the visit of the Sultan of Turkey, 1867 and of the Shah of Persia, 1873; White Ensign from HMS LONDON, 1906; plate commemorating the 800th anniversary of the Mayoralty, 1989; and Royal seals of Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Charles I and Charles II, which have become detached from documents.
