Papers of John Pridden, clergyman. The records comprise: notes on the history of St Bride Fleet Street [1800]; topographical collections relating to London and Middlesex [180-]-1825; transcripts of early 16th and late 17th century documents concerning St Paul's Cathedral, compiled 1785 and late 18th century; topographical collection relating to St Paul's Cathedral, 1779-1854; and correspondence with the Dean of St Paul's, 1795-1797.

This series consists of bound volumes of Tilley's private letters and correspondence to the Postmaster General, the Treasury and various Post Office officials and members of the public during the time in which he was first Assistant Secretary and then later Secretary. In 1854 the Post Office underwent a general revision and the Treasury appointed a Commission of Enquiry upon which Sir Charles Trevelyan, Sir Stafford Northcote and Mr Hoffey sat. Tilley was greatly interested in the work of the Commission and, as a result, much of his private correspondence is from, and to, members of the Commission. A further area in which Tilley had influence of interest was the revision and improvement of the Rural Post System and, as a consequence, the extension of the rural delivery. Again this is reflected in the nature of the correspondence within the volumes.

Furthermore, the correspondence covers a variety of subjects including inland and overseas mail arrangements, Sunday labour disputes, wage disputes, opening of the Post Office Savings Bank, and telegraph business. There is also correspondence relating to his knighthood.

Records of the Porksoken Ward, City of London. The records comprise minutes and accounts, rate assessments and poll books, records of the volunteer association, rent roll and other administrative and legal papers. They were catalogued by members of Guildhall Library staff at various dates.

Records of Engelbert Pickert, merchant, comprising a ledger, 1860-4; ships' and ships' insurance papers, 1867-70; and family papers, including the private accounts of Maria Pickert, his widow, 1851-85.

Records of the Physiological Society, including all the minute books from the foundation of the Society in 1876, the proposal books for candidates from 1888, correspondence, histories and photographs. The bulk of the material dates from after 1939.

Letters and papers relating chiefly to Samuel Pepys (1633-1703) in his work at the Navy Office 1660-73 and at the Admiralty 1673-9 and 1684-9, and also to the family of Richard Pepys (c 1589-1659), first cousin to the diarist's father, 1642-1689.

Records of the Pensions Archive Trust including minutes and associated papers of the Joint Liaison Committee relating to the administration of PAT, chairman's papers and annual reports and accounts; materials relating to publicity and outreach work carried out by PAT, namely PAT publications and events; and materials collected by PAT.
