Having worked for the Allied Control Commission in Germany from 1945 to 1949, and thereafter in various British education centres, Alice Cameron's book details her impressions of, and opinions about, Germany and its people at the end of the Second World War. Later files also include UCCA (Universities Central Council on Admissions) forms. Information contained in postgraduate files includes enrolment form, letter of acceptance, admission form, transcript information, Federal Government Scholarship form and correspondence. The record cards supplement the file series and generally include name, student number, photograph, nationality, date of birth, dates of entry and leaving, address, previous education, course units, values, grades and final degree result.

The collection includes George Baines' correspondence and papers re his work at Brize Norton, 1962-1966 and school magazines from Ashwell County Primary School, 1950s. However, the majority of the papers are those of George and Judith Baines relating to their work at Eynsham County Primary School, 1960s-1980s. These include administrative papers, teachers' guides, teachers' record books, school magazines, building plans and press cuttings. Also included is a copy of the episode of the BBC television series, 'The Expanding Classroom' which featured the work of George and Judith Baines at Eynsham School. The film was made in the summer term of 1969 before the first new school building burnt down. The collection contains many examples of children's work, mainly from Eynsham County Primary School, but also from Brize Norton, including project books, creative writing, audio tapes of music, art work, including block printing, and work with fabric. Queen Elizabeth College title deeds and other legal documents, 1911-1985, comprise endowment trust deeds, 1911-1960; licences for building work, building contracts and leases relating to College property, 1913-1946; copy of the 1953 Royal Charter and subsequent amendments and incorporating the College Statutes, 1953-1981; Queen Elizabeth College By-Laws, 1956-1976; official documents relating to the negotiations leading to the 1985 merger of Queen Elizabeth with King's College, 1983; register of the sealing of documents, 1953-1985.

The collection includes Schiller's notebooks, his working notes, scripts of his lectures, articles and essays, correspondence concerning engagements and with colleagues and students, material relating to his involvement with courses for teachers, personalia, printed material and photographs. Schiller's notebooks mainly contain working notes and the text for his lectures which provide evidence of his educational ideas, for instance, on the teaching of numbers, the importance of freedom and creativity through art, craft and movement activities, on reading, writing and conversation.
Also included are the notes and papers of Schiller's wife, Mrs Lyndall Schiller, including diaries of their daughters' childhood development. These records of Lyndall were deposited along with those of her husband and as much of them relate to matters that were of interest to both of them they have been retained within the collection of her husband's papers.
In addition the collection contains papers of two of Schiller's students who attended the 'Course on the Education of Children in the Junior School' organised by Christian Schiller at the University of London Institute of Education, 1959s. These include some wooden mathematical teaching apparatus.

Papers reflecting many aspects of Duane's career. In particular, the collection includes reports, memoranda and correspondence relating to Duane's headships of Howe Dell Secondary School, Hatfield (1949-1951); Alderman Woodrow Secondary Boys' School, Lowestoft (1951-1959); and Risinghill School, Islington (1959-1960). Also included are published and unpublished writings, lectures, correspondence, press cuttings and transcripts of interviews reflecting Duane's broad interests in education including on the following topics: the nature of intelligence, teacher training, discipline and punishment, 'delinquency', 'de-schooling', religious instruction and moral education, comprehensive education, non-authoritarian and 'progressive' education. Background research material, drafts and correspondence relating to his MPhil thesis at the University of Nottingham 'An Experiment in Progressive Education in a State School' (1977) [later published as The Terrace: An Educational Experiment in a State School (London: Freedom Press, 1995)] are also included.

Papers of Professor Kate Myers, 1970s-1990s, pricipally material related to jobs as Inner London Education Authority (ILEA) co-ordinator for the Schools Council sex differentiation project; ILEA advisory teacher for equal opportunities; SCDC equal opportunities project (which resulted in Genderwatch); and gender equality inspector in Ealing (which for a time was part of a consortium of boroughs involved in an Equal Opportunities project based at the Institute of Education), chiefly comprising original booklets, committee reports and a few handwritten responses/letters. Files include: sexual harrassment; sexism and gender difference in schools; women and work; women teachers and the NUT; special needs and sex equality; equal opportunities policies in London Education Authorities, especially the ILEA; curriculum and gender (science, maths, home economics, PE, geography, history, RE, exams); Australia; careers opportunities for women; copies of Equal Opportunities resources in the ILEA; and school governors.
