Original fire reports, containing detailed reports concerning individual calls to fires, including false alarms, including: address of fire, occupiers of premises, business or trade carried on, where fire started, particulars of fire, times of calls, method of extinguishing fire, fire appliances in attendance and fire station called. Also daily return of fire calls, compiled under section 31 of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade Act, 1865, which required the Fire Brigade to supply each fire insurance company with a daily return of fires occurring in the Metropolis. The information generally duplicates that of the fire reports.

Papers relating to training including: Fire Service College, training school, training of recruits, test calls and exercises, driving tests and promotion examinations. Personal papers of the Chief Officer including minutes of meetings, budgets, pay negotiations, staff annual reports, divisional instructions and memos.
Also personnel files for individual staff members. Personnel files survive for personnel who worked for the Middlesex County Council Fire Brigade Department and who resigned from the service before the 31st March 1965. The personnel files of regular, uniformed staff who transferred from the Middlesex Brigade, in particular to the new London Fire Brigade in 1965, were passed onto their new employers at the time and do not survive in the MCC archive. The same applies to files of Auxiliary Fire personnel. Files concerning regular firemen have been kept in their entirety, apart from those for staff born before 1900 or whose deaths (not occurring at work) were reported in the files. The general meetings minute books contain the minutes of the district committees and standing committees on tariffs (to ca. 1890), as well as minutes of the Glasgow Rate and Salvage Association and its predecessors (1861-1904) (see also CLC/B/017-14). The accounts concern not only the Fire Offices' Committee, but also associated organisations such as the London Wharf and Warehouse Committee, the Consequential Loss Committee and the Fire Offices' Committee (Foreign).
