Records of the National Council of Women of Great Britain, formerly the National Union of Women Workers. The records cover a wide variety of material. Minutes from many of the committees created by the NCW including the Executive Committee minutes from 1904, and Annual Reports from 1947 to 1993 can be found along with material relating to property and premises belonging to the NCW. There is a large series of information files which cover topics from Slavery and Prostitution to Animal Welfare and fireworks, as well as a series of publications by the NCW. The largest series is that of the Branch and Regional records which consist of minutes, accounts, reports and papers from many of the branches and regions.

Records of the Commercial Gas Light and Coke Company, 1844-1949. The records include minutes of directors' meetings, correspondence, half-yearly reports of the company, newspaper cuttings and miscellaneous papers. Also notice of meeting of shareholders of Crystal Palace District Gas Company.

Records of Collyer Bristow and Company, solicitors, 1860-1940, including accounts books; fire insurance registers; register of deeds and papers indexed by client; cash book; statements of share-out; and principal and interest books.

Records of Cowtan and Sons Limited, decorators and upholsterers, 1881-1959. The records consist of ledgers and accounts rendered to customers. Unfortunately the early records from 1790 have disappeared. The gap in the series of accounts rendered between 1937 and 1945 is the result of war-time losses of records.

Records of the Equitable Gas Light and Coke Company, 1831-1949, including minutes of Director's meetings; minutes of shareholder meetings; minutes of Committee of Works; minutes of Committee of Accounts and General Purposes; minutes of the Conference of representatives from the Equitable, London and Chartered Gas Light Companies; deed of settlement; site plan of gasworks; legal case papers and press cuttings.

Records of Higgs and Hill Limited, builders, and of subsidiary or merged companies, 1868-1978. The records are largely of financial nature, but do include other administrative material and contract information. There is a particularly good run of tender books for the period 1906-1965, detailing all the jobs for which Higgs and Hill tendered, regardless of whether or not they won the contract.

Records of the Equitable Gas Light and Coke Company, including endorsement to be made on the deed of settlement, 1835; supplemental deed of settlement, 1838; certificate of formal registration of the company, 1844; reports of the Company's Directors; papers relating to legal proceedings and lawsuits; correspondence; agreements and contracts; papers relating to premises owned by the Company in Kensington, Westminster, Pimlico and Chelsea.

Records of the Imperial Gas Light and Coke Company, including copy of the Bill for establishing an Imperial Gas Light and Coke company to light certain parts of the metropolis, and later Acts relating to the Company; Parliamentary papers; half yearly reports and accounts submitted by the Directors to the Shareholders; return of officer's sureties, showing officer's signature, name and address of sureties and a note on their responsibility; contracts and agreements; papers and correspondence relating to legal proceedings; minutes of Proceedings before Commissioners appointed by the Board of Trade to revise the scale of illuminating power and gas prices of the Imperial G.L.C.: and Commissioners' certificate; schedules of deeds, bonds and debentures; registers of deposits and withdrawals of various documents; sundry insurance policies relating to the company's properties; various leases, agreements, reports and other papers concerning the company's properties.

Records of the Barbican Horticultural Society, mainly comprising correspondence files, but also including a copy of the constitution of the Society, members' returns, and leaflets. They were catalogued by a member of Guildhall Library staff in 1992.

Records of the Metropolitan District Nursing Association, formerly the Metropolitan Nursing Association for Providing Nurses for the Sick Poor. The records comprise: minutes and annual reports, 1873-1974 (Ms 14618-24); correspondence and reports, 1876-1974 (Ms 14625-7); agreements 1917-38 (Ms 14628-31, 14811-12); financial records, 1924-74 (Ms 14632-6, 14891-3); and staff records, 1875-1974 (Ms 14637-51). They were catalogued by members of Guildhall Library staff in 1973-4. The whereabouts of any further records is unknown.

Records of the Society for the Protection of Life from Fire comprising minutes, annual reports, summaries of cases, correspondence and related papers. The minutes contain brief details of the applications for, and grants of, awards for individual acts of bravery. The surviving annual reports give further information on the incidents where awards were granted. These are arranged as numbered cases.
