In 1977 Dr Christopher Giles of Stoke-on-Trent presented a collection of his father's books and papers to the Wellcome Institute Library. This collection was transferred to the Contemporary Medical Archives Centre in 1980 and found to consist mainly of printed books and reprints, which were therefore transferred to the relevant sections of the Library, leaving a small amount of 'archival' material.

Papers of Carl Prausnitz-Giles including memorandum on the teaching of hygiene in the German Empire, 1930; lecture 'In Quest of Allergy', 1959; notes; obituary.

The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.

Photocopies/photographs/microfilm are supplied for private research only at the Archivist's discretion. Please note that material may be unsuitable for copying on conservation grounds, and that photographs cannot be photocopied in any circumstances. Readers are restricted to 100 photocopies in twelve months. Researchers who wish to publish material must seek copyright permission from the copyright owner.
