        Microfilm of a dossier produced by the Sicherheitsdienst der Reichsführung SS, 1936-1937, the result of an extensive investigation into Carl Schmitt, constitutional theorist of the Weimar Republic and 'Crown Jurist' of the Nazi era. It contains correspondence and reports from former colleagues of Schmitt and others, denouncing his alleged anti-Nazi, pro-Jewish background. Also included is correspondence between the editor of Das Schwarze Korps, and officials within the RFSS SD, in which an anonymous article first appeared (c1936), questioning Schmitt's Nazi credentials.

        Papers of the Schlesinger family, 1938-1945, contain official and family correspondence including a long letter from Jewish friends of the family, who managed to survive the war years in Hungary. This is a rare and valuable account of the Hungarian Jewish experience during the Nazi era, containing descriptions of life in hiding, deportations, massacres by Hungarian Nazis and life in Budapest in the immediate postwar years.

A file of documents from Hungary, 1832-1888, comprises personalia relating to Schiller-Szinessy's activities there, including school reports. A file on Schiller-Szinessy's time at Manchester includes correspondence and papers, 1851-1860, on the synagogues of the Manchester Old Hebrew Congregation and Congregation of British Jews, Manchester, and Schiller-Szinessy's association with them as rabbi. A file on Schiller-Szinessy's time at Cambridge comprises printed material, press cuttings, manuscripts, and correspondence of Raphael Loewe, and includes a letter to Schiller-Szinessy from Sir Moses Montefiore, 1883, replying to his ninety-ninth birthday greetings, and an unpublished manuscript by Schiller-Szinessy (in German), 1888, on 'Der Neue Catalog Der Hebraischen Handscriften In Der Bodleiana'. A file on Schiller-Szinessy's contribution to the Jewish press, 1850-1890, includes press cuttings of his articles and typescript notes on his work. A file on Schiller-Szinessy's other publications includes printed copies and press cuttings of his writings from 1845. A file on the marriage, offspring and death of Schiller-Szinessy comprises a letter from H Samuel to Schiller-Szinessy, 1861; papers relating to his marriage, 1863, and other family papers; a photograph of him, 1888; undated photographs of his daughters Henrietta and Eleanor; a photograph, 1963, of his gravestone; cuttings and other printed papers on his death, 1890, including letters of condolence to his wife; notes, cuttings and correspondence, 1962-1968 and undated, of Raphael Loewe on Schiller-Szinessy, including biographical information. A file of correspondence and papers of Raphael Loewe concerning Alfred Solomon Schiller-Szinessy includes a small scrapbook containing poems, 1886-1887 and undated, by Alfred S Schiller-Szinessy; a photocopy of an article by Alfred S Schiller-Szinessy on 'The Testaments of the XII Patriarchs' from The Jewish World, 1887; and two letters, 1962, concerning his education at the Perse School, Cambridge. A file on the Schiller-Szinessy children notably includes correspondence, 1958-1965, of Raphael Loewe on the welfare, death and burial of Sydney Schiller-Szinessy. Other original material comprises a manuscript transcript of Bereshith Rabbathi; undated manuscript accounts of the Hebrew language, for teaching; bound copies of Der Ungarische Israelit (in German), 1886, for Dr Schiller-Szinessy; a notebook containing manuscript verse and miscellaneous notes, inscribed [1903]. There is a typescript list of documents relating to Schiller-Szinessy, 1940, and a ticket for an address by Raphael Loewe on Schiller-Szinessy, 1962.

        This collection deals with a law suit brought by the Osram company, against a former employee, Ernst Schaefer, before the Reichsverwaltungsgericht, Berlin, 1941. The gist of the ruling is that in light of a new law affecting Jewish World War One veterans (29 December 1938) the firm was justified in terminating a previous agreement in which Schaefer was to receive a pension and other benefits.

        Covering letters addressed to the Wiener Library, a copy of the court's finding and Ernst Schaefer's comments. Included are four copies of the above documentation.

        Records of the parish of Saint Swithin, London Stone, Cannon Street, City of London, including parish registers of baptisms, marriages, burials and banns, Vestry minutes, Churchwardens' accounts, deeds, poor rate and tithe rate assessments and miscellaneous administrative papers.

        Records of the London Stone District Visiting Society, 1830-1854, 2 volumes: This was a charitable society for visiting families and distributing religious tracts, and also linen, bread, coal etc. Little is known about the society. An undated (but ca.1830s or 1840s) printed notice bound into Ms 3367 gives the secretary's name as J. C. Bowles and indicates that the society was run by a committee which met at 16 Walbrook. The records of the society were deposited with the records of the parish of St Swithin London Stone in 1938 and catalogued shortly afterwards by a member of Guildhall Library staff. They comprise a cash book 1830-54 (P69/SWI/D/02/MS03366) and a summary of visits and payments made 1831-43 (P69/SWI/D/03/MS03367).
