Papers of Sir John Whittaker Ellis, Lord Mayor of London, 1759-1935, including muniments of title to premises in the City of London and Surrey estate; papers relating to the administration of his estatse including rent ledger; household and personal accounts; and papers of his executors.

The records comprise the correspondence of Robert Goodwin in the service of the Hudson's Bay Company at Fort Albany and elsewhere, and the accompanying parchment pouches in which the letters are assumed to have been stored.

These records comprise compilations of London signs, 1649-1767, of advertisements by goldsmiths, 1666-1731, and list of city stage-coach and carrier services, 1749.

Papers of Richard Newcourt, historian and notary, comprising drafts and notes for the first volume of Newcourt's Repertorium Ecclesiasticum Parochiale Londinense, (published 1708); and three maps of London, one of the City before the Great Fire of 1666 and two plans for its subsequent rebuilding; together with An Explanation of the mapps, and A letter expressing some inconveniences of the old city, and some reasons for the new modellinge of the same.

Letters and papers relating chiefly to Samuel Pepys (1633-1703) in his work at the Navy Office 1660-73 and at the Admiralty 1673-9 and 1684-9, and also to the family of Richard Pepys (c 1589-1659), first cousin to the diarist's father, 1642-1689.

The Salaman family papers are a collection of deeds, documents and accounts arising from settlements and trusts under the wills of Myer Salaman (died 1 April 1896) and Nathan Salaman (died 18 April 1905). The properties mentioned in the deeds are in the City of London, Islington, Hammersmith and Westminster. Also includes ostrich feather auction sales catalogues.

Records of William Worsley, Dean of St Paul's Cathedral. These account rolls relate to William Worsley's private and personal income and include not only the revenues of the deanery of St Paul's, but also those of his other ecclesiastical preferments and numerous other estates held privately by Worsley in London, Middlesex, Bedfordshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Berkshire.

Condition of a bond given by the treasurer of St Thomas's Hospital to "A. B." in recognition of his proposal to discover to the Governors a freehold estate called Elliot's Court in Little Old Bailey, which had been lost and withheld from them for 24 years.

The records comprise: account book, 1871-9 (Ms 09410A), and general fund ledger, 1883-5, and signed enrolments, 1885-8 (Ms 09410B). It is not known whether any other records survive of this Militia.

Records of the Royal Air Force Training Corps, Squadron No 1282 (City of London). The records comprise: Civilian Committee minute book, 1941-7 (Ms 14387); attendance book, 1941-7 (Ms 14388); welfare papers, 1941-55 (Ms 14389); and scrapbook, 1941-6 (Ms 14390). They were catalogued by Guildhall Library staff in 1972.

The records of the Accident Offices Association largely comprise minutes (mostly unsigned) with some accounts. The latter also relate to some of the other bodies with which the association was concerned. Initially, the business of the association was conducted through its chairman, the General Purposes Committee and the Rating Committee (from 1907). Committees were subsequently established to deal with particular areas of business, for example the Motor Offices Committee and Fidelity Offices Committee (in 1913). The work of these main committees was often carried out by standing committees; sub-committees were set up to deal with particular issues and aspects of the areas of business concerned. Additional committees were established as time went on, such as the Employers' Liability Committee (in 1947). An Emergency Powers Committee was set up in August 1939 to run the association during the Second World War; it functioned until June 1947. This explains the gaps in the main series of committee minutes between 1939 and 1947.

Financial records of the Aircraft Insurance Committee.

Records of the Assurance Educational Council, consisting of an incomplete series of minutes and accounts. The minute books from 1942 onwards have reference numbers which appear to cross refer to supporting papers which are no longer with this collection. The existence of any other classes of records, such as files, is not known.

Minute books of the Engineering Offices Association, an association of engineering insurers.

The main records of the Fire Offices' Committee comprise minutes of general meetings, 1861-1979 (Ms 29452); sub-committee minute books, 1897-1978 (Ms 29454); circulars, 1873-1985 (Mss 29462-3); accounts, 1874-1973 (Mss 29464-73); a significant body of material relating to the administration of the tariffs, 1842-1983 (Mss 29476-84); and material relating to fire-testing and research, 1935-72 (Mss 29457-9). The general meetings minute books contain the minutes of the district committees and standing committees on tariffs (to ca. 1890), as well as minutes of the Glasgow Rate and Salvage Association and its predecessors (1861-1904) (see also CLC/B/017-14). The accounts concern not only the Fire Offices' Committee, but also associated organisations such as the London Wharf and Warehouse Committee, the Consequential Loss Committee and the Fire Offices' Committee (Foreign).

The records of the Fire Offices' Committee (Foreign) comprise minute books and indexes.

The records of the Industrial Life Offices Association consist of minute books, annual accounts and files. The minute books appear to form an almost complete set, except for those of the Executive, which end in 1977; and those of the Quarterly Meeting, which end in 1956. From 1920, the minute books are annotated with reference numbers, apparently referring to supporting papers, the whereabouts of which are unknown.
