Souvenir brochure for a Mass Protest Demonstration at Hyde Park, Westminster, organised by the British Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi Council to Champion Human Rights. The brochure includes an eye-catching swastika motif (symbol with clockwise arms, officially adopted in 1935 as the emblem of Nazi Germany) incorporating Adolf Hitler as the enemy of the Jewish, Catholic and Protestant religions and Liberty.

Academic paper written by Wendy Ironmonger that was submitted to and won the Chartered Insurance Institute Morgan Owen Medal Competition in 1986.

Personal papers of Shu Pao Lim, community worker, including correspondence from the Race Relations and Immigration sub-committee; certificates awarded to Lim for her dedication as a voluntary worker; photographs of Lim and her family in Burma and of Lim receiving the MBE; and Burmese wall hangings.

Records of the Clapton Youth Centre, including Senior Members Defence Committee and Committee for the Defence of Clapton Youth Centre minutes and papers; nightly report sheets; Jean Tate, Tutor Warden (later Head)'s correspondence files concerning policy, disciplinary hearings, papers concerning campaigns and events based at the Centre including Anselm Samuel, Tutor in Charge (later Outreach Worker); the death of Colin Roach in Stoke Newington and Colin Roach Family Support Committee (joint campaign with Hackney Black Peoples Association); New Cross Fire demonstrations; trip to Grenada during the Revolution in 1980; related leaflets, posters, photographs and audio cassette tapes.

The records demonstrate how the Centre was run, and how relations deteriorated between the Centre and its parent, the Inner London Education Authority. The papers of the campaigns which were run from the Centre are particularly valuable for research on local issues in Hackney, as well as wider activism in the Black community. The photographs, slides and negatives are also a strong element in the collection, documenting the Centre's activities and related campaigns such as Colin Roach demonstrations and support given to the Knight family.

Records containing personal information concerning Jean Tate and Anslem Samuel are available for general access as those individuals have requested this access rule during their lifetimes. Records containing personal information relating to staff are not available for general access and have been restricted for 84 years from the last date in each file. Records containing personal information relating to members (who were aged 12 years and above) are not available for general access and have been restricted for 88 years from the last date in each file.

Brent Black Music History and NARM (Naming and Role Models) Heritage Lottery Funded projects published booklets and DVD recordings (the latter are available by prior appointment). Also African Histories Revisited's published 'Race/Racism Primer' (2014).

Almost all papers relate to George Meering's experience in World War One. They comprise typewritten contemporary accounts of his war experience and as prisoner held by the Turkish, correspondence (including letter from General Edmund Allenby), newspaper articles, photographs of regiment and nurses, dinner invitation, medals and other memorabilia.

Records of the West London Synagogue of British Jews, 1840-1973. The archive consists mainly of financial records such as cash books, ledgers, journals, accounts books and financial statements, with two scapbooks containing advertisements, news cuttings, programmes and tickets for special events.

Records of the New Road Synagogue, Whitechapel, 1924-1974. With the exception of the two minute books the majority of the records date from the mid 1960s, when J. Lindsay took over as Secretary of the New Road Synagogue. He remained in post until the amalgamation in 1974. The correspondence files are those which were maintained by J. Lindsay. Their contents reflect the wide range of duties undertaken by members of the Synagogue within the Jewish community.

Records of the Victoria Club, Jewish community centre and youth club, 1901-1991. Records include daily log book; membership books; papers of the Council and Executive; papers relating to building development including transfer of the Club from Stepney to Hackney; financial records; papers relating to youth club activities; papers of the Victoria (Hackney) Kosher Meals on Wheels service; papers of the Senior Citizens Club, the Victoria Centre for Adults, and Hampstead Victoria; fundraising papers and memorabilia.

Records of the National Council of Women of Great Britain, formerly the National Union of Women Workers. The records cover a wide variety of material. Minutes from many of the committees created by the NCW including the Executive Committee minutes from 1904, and Annual Reports from 1947 to 1993 can be found along with material relating to property and premises belonging to the NCW. There is a large series of information files which cover topics from Slavery and Prostitution to Animal Welfare and fireworks, as well as a series of publications by the NCW. The largest series is that of the Branch and Regional records which consist of minutes, accounts, reports and papers from many of the branches and regions.

Records of the Ancient Society of College Youths, including membership books, peal books, minutes, and notes on the history of the Society.

The records were microfilmed in 1985 and 2003. Mss 21656-7A and 33992 are positive copy microfilms and microfiche presented to the Archive by the Society, which has retained the master negatives and the original manuscripts. Permission to take reproductions from the films or to publish extracts from the records should be sought from the Society's Hon. Secretary (please ask staff for further information).

Records of the Candlewick Ward Club, comprising: minutes, 1739-1990 (Ms 02641, 32757); membership records, 1876-1914, 1958-89 (Ms 08538, 32758); financial records, 1933-97 (Ms 32759-62); and correspondence and other papers, 1968-88 (Ms 32763-8).

Records of the Society for the Protection of Life from Fire comprising minutes, annual reports, summaries of cases, correspondence and related papers. The minutes contain brief details of the applications for, and grants of, awards for individual acts of bravery. The surviving annual reports give further information on the incidents where awards were granted. These are arranged as numbered cases.

Records of the United Wards Club covering 1877-1996 and comprising: minutes, 1877-2004 (Ms 11722-4, 19293, 21481); registers of members, 1902-59 (Ms 19294); financial records, 1910-65 (Ms 19295-6, 20352); transactions, 1907-29 (Ms 21483); and miscellaneous papers, 1951-96 (Ms 21482, 30762, 36859). They were catalogued by members of Guildhall Library staff between 1966 and 2006.

Papers of the Devonshire Square (Particular) Baptist Church and predecessor church the Turners' Hall meeting. The records comprise memoranda and constitutional documents, minutes, records of membership and attendance, and financial material. They were catalogued by a member of Guildhall Library staff.

This collection consists of the papers and correspondence of James Hayward of Bridgewater, a wholesale confectioner, and one of the most energetic of Joanna's followers in the West Country, with a wide circle of correspondents throughout the country, 1789-1888. He also collected, during the middle and later nineteenth century, the papers of many other of Joanna's followers, most notably Edmund Baker, who was minister of a chapel held by the sect in Teddington, Middlesex from about 1809 to 1811, and later minister in Dowlish, Somerset. The collection includes a roll of members, and register book for the Teddington chapel and lists of members and signed testimonies from Dowlish and Ilminster. It also includes a large number of printed books by and concerning Joanna, many of them from the libraries of James Hayward and Edmund Baker.
