There is a good range of committee minutes, correspondence files and publications. The correspondence files approximate to the various departments although the contents of each one can be quite diverse.

Letters and papers relating chiefly to Samuel Pepys (1633-1703) in his work at the Navy Office 1660-73 and at the Admiralty 1673-9 and 1684-9, and also to the family of Richard Pepys (c 1589-1659), first cousin to the diarist's father, 1642-1689.

Nominal rolls for Home Guard Battalions, comprising:

The records comprise: account book, 1871-9 (Ms 09410A), and general fund ledger, 1883-5, and signed enrolments, 1885-8 (Ms 09410B). It is not known whether any other records survive of this Militia.

Records of the Royal Air Force Training Corps, Squadron No 1282 (City of London). The records comprise: Civilian Committee minute book, 1941-7 (Ms 14387); attendance book, 1941-7 (Ms 14388); welfare papers, 1941-55 (Ms 14389); and scrapbook, 1941-6 (Ms 14390). They were catalogued by Guildhall Library staff in 1972.

The records of the Accident Offices Association largely comprise minutes (mostly unsigned) with some accounts. The latter also relate to some of the other bodies with which the association was concerned. Initially, the business of the association was conducted through its chairman, the General Purposes Committee and the Rating Committee (from 1907). Committees were subsequently established to deal with particular areas of business, for example the Motor Offices Committee and Fidelity Offices Committee (in 1913). The work of these main committees was often carried out by standing committees; sub-committees were set up to deal with particular issues and aspects of the areas of business concerned. Additional committees were established as time went on, such as the Employers' Liability Committee (in 1947). An Emergency Powers Committee was set up in August 1939 to run the association during the Second World War; it functioned until June 1947. This explains the gaps in the main series of committee minutes between 1939 and 1947.

Minute books of the Engineering Offices Association, an association of engineering insurers.

The records of the Industrial Life Offices Association consist of minute books, annual accounts and files. The minute books appear to form an almost complete set, except for those of the Executive, which end in 1977; and those of the Quarterly Meeting, which end in 1956. From 1920, the minute books are annotated with reference numbers, apparently referring to supporting papers, the whereabouts of which are unknown.

Papers of the Coal Meters' Committee, including minutes, letter books, cash books, ledgers, books of notices and orders, ships' registers, records of coal exports and imports, and papers relating to the reorganisation of the Coal Meters' Office.

The records of the Coal Meters' Benefit Society, the Coal Meters' Provident Club and the Coal Meters' Office Protection Branch also form part of the archives of the Coal Meters' Committee. The Benefit Society records consist chiefly of minutes, resolutions touching amendments to the constitution, statements of account and correspondence relating to the Coal Meters' Benefit Society and Widows' Aid Fund. The Provident Club records contain a copy of rules, nomination form counterfoil book and account book. The Protection Branch records consist of annual reports, ledger accounts and cash books.

Records of the Corporation of Insurance Brokers, comprising constitutional documents, minutes, annual reports and accounts, financial material, membership records and other administrative papers.

Records of the Federation of Commonwealth Chambers of Commerce, which comprise annual reports, minutes and reports of conferences.

London Cattle Food Trade Association records comprise minutes, accounts and a register of samples.

National Federation of Corn Trade Associations records comprise: constitution and bye-laws, 1918 (Ms 23208); minutes and notes for meetings, 1918-1958 (Ms 23209-12); and accounts, 1955-1972 (Ms 23213-14).

London Fish Trade Association records comprise minutes, rules of the Association, accounts, material relating to frozen fish distribution and import schemes, and lists of members (incomplete date coverage).

Records of the parish of Saint Mary, Keeble Street, Summerstown, including registers of baptisms and marriages; registers of church services; Parochial Church Council minutes; financial accounts; papers relating to the construction of a new church including faculties and plans; and records of the Slate Club.

Records of the Jewish Bread Meat and Coal Society, 1797-1954. The collection consists of minutes, financial records, correspondence, reports, copies of the Laws of the Society and other general material.

Records of the Jewish Memorial Council, 1899-2001. The archive mainly consists of files and volumes of minutes and working papers. The records of the Reverend Malcolm Weisman are noteworthy for the detail they provide on the survival of Judaism in small, often isolated, communities.

Records of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, 1760-2002. The archive is central to the history of the modern Jewish community in Britain. It covers virtually every facet of Jewish life in Britain in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries - assimiliation, education, political emancipation, Shechita, anti-Semitism. The archive is particularly interesting on the conditions of Jewry outside the UK - there is a lot of information, for example, on the rise of fascism in mainland Europe in the 1930s and the Holocaust.

Minutes and accounts of the Hackney Carriages Proprietors Benevolent Fund, later the Hackney Carriage Proprietors' Provident Institution. The minute books give details of the general administration of the Fund. They include descriptions of individual cases of hardship.

The Hackney Carriages Proprietors Benevolent Fund appears, as its name suggests, to have been open to proprietors of hackney carriages only rather than to all hackney carriage drivers. Clearly, however, many proprietors of only a few hackney carriages would also have been engaged in driving their own vehicles.

Among the items recorded in the minute books of the Fund can be found details of ordinary members including brief professional details of individuals wishing to join the Fund, names of members or dependants to whom regular payments were made, and brief reports on the circumstances of member or dependants on their first application for a grant. There are also brief notices of the deaths of members.

The biggest draw-back of these minute books is that they are not indexed and therefore speculative searches are likely to take a long time.

Records of the Ruislip Cottagers Allotments Charity, including minutes, leases, correspondence and accounts.

Records of the National Council of Women of Great Britain, formerly the National Union of Women Workers. The records cover a wide variety of material. Minutes from many of the committees created by the NCW including the Executive Committee minutes from 1904, and Annual Reports from 1947 to 1993 can be found along with material relating to property and premises belonging to the NCW. There is a large series of information files which cover topics from Slavery and Prostitution to Animal Welfare and fireworks, as well as a series of publications by the NCW. The largest series is that of the Branch and Regional records which consist of minutes, accounts, reports and papers from many of the branches and regions.

Records of the Scottish Reel Club, comprising minutes, financial records, membership records and programmes.

Records of the London Society for Jews and Christians, including minute books; correspondence; financial accounts; reports; bulletins; press cuttings; papers for publication; copies of talks; and programmes and advertisements for meetings and conferences.

Records of the Metropolitan District Nursing Association, formerly the Metropolitan Nursing Association for Providing Nurses for the Sick Poor. The records comprise: minutes and annual reports, 1873-1974 (Ms 14618-24); correspondence and reports, 1876-1974 (Ms 14625-7); agreements 1917-38 (Ms 14628-31, 14811-12); financial records, 1924-74 (Ms 14632-6, 14891-3); and staff records, 1875-1974 (Ms 14637-51). They were catalogued by members of Guildhall Library staff in 1973-4. The whereabouts of any further records is unknown.
